New to TTRPGs? Start Here

On a recent intro night, a first-timer felt overwhelmed by another player’s big in-character voice. We paused, checked in, and said: “You can play your way. No voices needed. If you want to say ‘I’m a fighter’ or ‘I cast a spell’, that’s enough.”
She stayed. Five hours later, she confidently curb-stomped the villain in combat — and the whole table cheered. That’s the magic of TTRPGs done right: safety, support, and shared wins.

What’s a TTRPG (and why do people love them)?

TTRPGs (like Dungeons & Dragons, Daggerheart, MÖRK BORG, Vampire: The Masquerade) are collaborative storytelling games. You describe what your character does; the Game Master (GM) explains what happens; the dice add surprise. No stage performance needed. No homework required. Just imagination, teamwork, and laughing a lot.

How we run things (Beginner-First. Pressure-Free. Goblin-Approved.)

Session Zero & Safety Tools
We start with expectations, tone, and boundaries. We use simple tools (like pause and lines/veils) so anyone can tap out of icky topics. Consent first, always.

No Acting Required
You can narrate plainly: “I’m a wizard. I cast a spell.” If voices and drama are your jam, go for it — but never mandatory.

Rules? We’ll guide you.
We teach as we play. You’ll learn the basics in your first session: rolling dice, simple checks, and how turns work in combat.

Short, Sweet One-Shots
Our Intro Nights are designed to be friendly, self-contained adventures. Leave with a win and a grin.

We Provide the Gear
Character sheets, pencils, dice you can borrow, and pre-made heroes. Bring water and curiosity; we’ve got the rest.

Accessibility & Comfort
Breaks are normal. Quiet table? Headphones while reading? Totally fine. We welcome newcomers, neurodivergent players, and anxious adventurers.

Respect is the Rule
Goblins love chaos, but not at the cost of kindness. We foster inclusive tables where everyone gets spotlight time.

Great beginner games we run

  • Dungeons & Dragons – Classic fantasy, easy to grasp, tons of support.
  • Daggerheart – Cinematic fantasy with quick, story-first rules.
  • Dragonbane / Basic Fantasy – Lighter rules, big fun.
  • MÖRK BORG / CY_BORG – Punky, rules-light mayhem (we run toned-down intro versions).
  • Vampire: The Masquerade – Story-heavy; we keep beginner tables content-safe and clear.

Not sure? Tell us the vibe you want (heroic, spooky, cozy, silly) and we’ll seat you at the right table.

Yes, with a guardian’s permission, and at age-appropriate tables. Ask us for details.

Why start with us?

Because we specialize in first-timers. We’ve helped nervous newcomers become confident heroes — sometimes in a single session. You don’t need to be “a performer” or memorize rules. You just need to show up. We’ll take it from there.
