Why can I not order these yet?
We only take money for something once we know the price and know we can get it. Until a publisher confirms both, listing it as orderable would be guesswork with your money.
Does leaving my email commit me to anything?
No. It is a notification only. You get one email when pre-orders open, and you can unsubscribe from it at any time.
The cover art looks like a placeholder
Sometimes it is. Publishers announce a title long before final artwork exists, so a few of these use key art rather than the finished cover. We swap it as soon as the real packshot is released.
