14-Day Right of Withdrawal

Under Dutch and EU consumer law (EU Directive 2011/83/EU), you have the right to cancel your purchase within 14 days without giving any reason. This cooling-off period starts the day after you receive your order.

How to Return

  1. Notify us first: Email info@theroleplaygoblin.nl with your order number and clear statement of your intention to return. Returns without prior notification may be refused.
  2. Pack securely: Use original packaging. You are responsible for adequate packaging; damage during return shipping is your responsibility.
  3. Ship within 14 days: After notifying us, you have 14 days to send the items back.
  4. Send to: The Role Play Goblin, Westeinde 24a, 2512HD Den Haag
  5. Use tracked shipping: You bear the risk until we receive the return. We recommend tracked and insured shipping.

Return Conditions

  • Products must be unused, undamaged, and in original condition
  • All parts, accessories, manuals, and packaging must be included
  • You may inspect products as you would in a physical store, but any use beyond inspection reduces refund value
  • Products must be in resaleable condition

Products That CANNOT Be Returned Once Opened/Used

The following products are excluded from the right of withdrawal once seals are broken or products are used:

  • Sealed card products: Trading card packs, booster boxes, starter decks, mystery boxes — once seal is broken
  • Shrink-wrapped games: Board games, RPG books in shrink wrap — once wrap is removed
  • Blind boxes and mystery items: Cannot be returned once opened due to the nature of the product
  • Dice: Once removed from sealed packaging and showing any signs of handling or use
  • Miniatures: Once removed from sprues, assembled, primed, painted, or modified in any way
  • Custom 3D prints: Products made to your specifications are non-refundable
  • Hygiene-sensitive items: Any product where the seal guarantees unused condition

Value Reduction for Returned Items

Under Dutch law (Art. 6:230s BW), we may reduce your refund if products show value loss due to handling beyond what is necessary to inspect the product:

  • Missing original packaging: Up to 30% reduction
  • Missing parts or accessories: Up to 50% reduction or refusal
  • Signs of use or wear: Up to 100% reduction (no refund)
  • Damage from improper return packaging: Deducted from refund
  • Books with creased spines, bent pages, or markings: Up to 50% reduction
  • 3D Prints, Terrain or large items with visible handling marks: Up to 100% reduction

Return Shipping Costs

  • Change of mind returns: Customer pays return shipping
  • Defective or incorrect item: We pay return shipping (contact us first for return label)
  • Partial order returns: Customer pays return shipping

Refund Policy

  • We process refunds within 14 days of receiving and inspecting the returned items
  • Refund is issued via the original payment method
  • Original shipping costs: Only refunded if you return the complete order. Partial returns do not qualify for shipping refund.
  • Upgraded shipping: If you originally chose express or premium shipping, we refund only standard shipping costs
  • We may withhold refund until we receive the goods or proof of return shipment

Defective Products

If you receive a damaged or defective product:

  1. Contact us within 48 hours of receipt with photos of the damage (packaging and product)
  2. Do not return before contacting us — we may be able to resolve without return
  3. Keep all original packaging for carrier claims
  4. We will arrange replacement, repair, or refund at our discretion

Damaged in Transit

  • Visible damage: Note on delivery receipt and photograph immediately
  • Report to us within 48 hours
  • Hidden damage discovered later: Report within 7 days with photos
  • Claims reported later than 7 days may not be accepted

Wrong Item Received

  • Contact us immediately — do not open sealed products if incorrect
  • We will provide a prepaid return label
  • Correct item shipped upon receipt of wrong item, or refund issued

Exchanges

We do not offer direct exchanges. Please return for refund and place a new order. This ensures fastest processing.

Local Pickup Returns

  • Items purchased via local pickup can be returned to our store during opening hours
  • Same return conditions apply
  • Bring order confirmation or ID

Refused Deliveries

If you refuse delivery or fail to collect a package:

  • We refund the product price minus original shipping cost and return shipping charged by the carrier
  • Handling fee of €5 may apply

Pre-Order Cancellations

  • Pre-orders may be cancelled for full refund until the item is shipped
  • Once shipped, standard return policy applies
