Many of the books we sell come with the publisher’s own PDF, free. Participating titles say so on their page and in your basket — if a book doesn’t say it, it doesn’t come with one.
After checkout, press Request my PDF — on your receipt or in Your Grimoire. The publisher (or the creator) then emails it to the address on your order, usually within a few days — and a few titles hand you a redeem key on the spot.
We never host or send the files ourselves, and a claim never expires: request it today or next year.
The Sutra of Pale Leaves β Twin Suns Rising is a hardcover supplement for Call of Cthulhu 7th Edition set in 1980s Japan β a period of economic excess, rapid modernisation, and widening generational fracture. A long-forgotten sacred text has resurfaced, and with it something ancient and deeply unwelcome. This is Volume 1 of a two-book series; Volume 2 is The Sutra of Pale Leaves β Carcosa Manifest.
The book opens with an extensive setting guide covering late-1980s and early-1990s Japan during the so-called bubble period: daily life, popular culture (TV, music, manga), organised crime, and the spiritual vacuum that drew desperate people toward movements promising meaning and release. Against this backdrop, the entity known in Western Mythos tradition as The King in Yellow appears in a new guise β the Prince of Pale Leaves. Unlike many Mythos forces defined purely by obliteration, he presents himself as a helper. That is precisely what makes him dangerous. The supplement also provides a comprehensive guide to the Sutra itself, detailing the insidious effects of the text, the cults that have formed around the Yellow King, and a range of new Mythos monsters suitable for use in any Call of Cthulhu game.
The second half of the book contains three linked investigations, which can be run independently or chained into a campaign. One scenario places the investigators in Ikaruga town, where an alarming spike in cases of sleep paralysis, lethargy, and depression is accompanied by consistent reports of the same strange creature in victims' visions. The supplement is designed for 3β6 players, requires the Call of Cthulhu: Keeper Rulebook, and is optionally compatible with Pulp Cthulhu.
